Scars
May 2008
In my final year of university one of my projects was labeled 'Aesthetics of Antiquity' which looked at the idea of things getting older how they change or transform.
I decided to look at physical scars as the basis of this project and became interested in the stories behind the scar, and that people always remember where they got it.
What interested me was that scars are often hidden as they have come from an incident of trauma. It was then that it hit me that scars are simply personal bodily trinkets.
From this I decided to create something that could be worn, to show off the scar and to take all the negative connotations surrounding them and use that in a positive way.
Each scar pendant is approximately 1inch in diameter and is made of pure 99.9% silver.
